A series of mild upsetting flashbacks show an elderly man being mistreated by his son and daughter-in-law, who insult him, force him to wear ragged, dirty clothing and berate him for falling sick. In a comic scene, a timid man threatens to ‘get the rod’ during an argument with his wife but is immediately cowed when she angrily asks him to repeat himself.

A man threatens several people with a shotgun during a scene of comic threat. In another scene a boy rolls back his eyes and speaks in a croaky voice after supposedly being possessed by a spirit, but it is soon revealed that he is only pretending.

Bad language includes ‘saala’ and ‘oh my God’.

A comic character advises another man to exert control over his future wife, but the man’s sexist attitude is not condoned. Another man explains that he has trouble expressing his feelings out loud because boys and men are encouraged not to cry. An unsympathetic character demands an extensive dowry from a prospective bride’s family, but the practice of dowries is clearly criticised. There are also scenes in which people make fun of a person’s weight.

Very mild rude humour includes references to people ‘wetting their pants’.

There are brief images of an undetailed dead body at a funeral after a person dies of natural causes.

There are brief references to alcoholism, as well as comic scenes of drunken behaviour.

A woman mentions suffering from a period of depression after having her heart broken. There are also brief references to her subsequent unhappy marriage to an alcoholic man.
