violence
There are passing undetailed references to hypothetical cases of domestic abuse. A group of students are briefly shown shoving one other and making verbal threats during an argument.
language
Bad language includes ‘bloody’, ‘God’, ‘hell’ and ‘damn’.
sex
There are occasional mild references to couples ‘sleeping together’ and ‘fulfilling marital obligations’. During a divorce case, a lawyer asks a woman how often she has sex with her husband, and goes on to make further comments relating frequency of sexual activity to marital ‘health’. Other scenes contain brief and undetailed references to adultery.
discrimination
There are references to homosexuality having been criminalised in India until 2018, and to many gay people having been forced to conceal their sexuality and enter into unhappy marriages with members of the opposite sex. A man admits to pressuring his son into marrying a woman despite knowing he was gay, and later makes an emotional apology for his actions. In another scene a woman refers to a man as a ‘migrant loser’; there is also infrequent casual use of discriminatory terms referring to mental health, such as ‘nutcase’ and ‘crazy’. The subject is handled sensitively, and the film carries a clear and positive anti-discrimination message.
injury detail
An animated production logo at the start of the film contains a brief black-and-white image of bodies lying in dark pools of blood at a crime scene.
