It Happened One Night

There are outdated references to men disciplining female family members with violence, including a scene in which a woman is slapped by her father during an argument. A character with blood on his face describes punching a man, tying him to a tree, and commandeering his car after he stole his belongings.

A character pretends to be a dangerous gangster, claiming to have a machine gun, and threatening a man if he discloses the location of himself and his female companion. A ticket inspector threatens to hit a man in the face, before the man comically diffuses the situation. A woman passes out after a vehicle crash which upsets her young son, before both are cared for by others in the scene.

There are kissing scenes as well as references to undressing and romantic relationships. While hitchhiking a woman lifts her skirt and reveals her ankle to the driver of a passing car. A woman expresses her disinterest in a talkative man attempting to flirt with her on a bus. After pretending to be a quarreling couple, a man and woman joke about performing 'Cinderella or a real hot love story.'

There is very mild injury detail of blood on a man's face in the aftermath of off-screen violence.

There is a passing reference to suicide.
