IT COULDN'T HAPPEN HERE is a British musical film based on the music of The Pet Shop Boys and their first two studio albums, 'Please' and 'Actually'.

Sex
There are strong sex references, including when a man refers to his ex-girlfriend as a 'nymphomaniac', as well as sight of men and two school boys looking at various sexual scenarios through Mutoscopes. A black and white farce sketch plays out a scenario called 'Nights in the Harem', in which two gentleman kiss and fondle a house maid. Another scene includes a ventriloquist's dummy making reference to a waitress' legs, who also has her backside fondled by a man from behind the counter.
Nudity
There is brief full frontal nudity, as well as breast and rear nudity, when a man looks through a pair of binoculars at two women who walk naked along a beach. In another scene, there is more breast and rear nudity visible on posters featuring a number of women in various poses.
There is implied violence to a woman sex-worker by a supposedly blind serial killer who hits her with his cane after she chases business on the side of a main road. A group of young men wearing Union Jack clothing and with swastikas drawn on their faces surround a man in a telephone box. He is later seen with blood running down his forehead. A man wearing a trench coat and hat, and with bandages covering his face, walks along a garden path engulfed in flames with no evidence of pain or injury.
