violence
A woman is dragged into a room and feasted on by a giant demonic teddy bear, although much of the detail is masked. A monstrous bear is stabbed in the neck with scissors. It is implied that children may have suffered some domestic abuse at the hands of their mentally ill parents.
threat and horror
Sequences include strong sustained supernatural threat and unsettling horror throughout, with associated jump scares, after a young girl becomes possessed by a malevolent and snarling teddy bear. As part of the possession, the child is encouraged to impale her hand on a rusty nail and another character feels forced to stab herself with scissors. A demonic entity transforms into a giant spider and chases a terrified woman through a house. A woman who has escaped from a mental institution appears and launches herself at another character.
language
Infrequent use of strong language ('f**k') is accompanied by milder terms such as 'bitchy', 'shit', 'piss', 'asshole', 'screw', 'God' and 'damn'.
drugs
A teenage boy puts a pill in his mouth and offers one to to a fifteen year old girl who immediately refuses to take it; there are references to him 'tripping'. It is subsequently and comically revealed that the pills are not illegal drugs but his mother's allergy medication.
injury detail
There is brief sight of a child's severed finger. Characters attempt to hide burns and scars on their arms. Small blood spurts and bloody aftermath detail is apparent after violent incidents.
theme
References are made to mental illness and bereavement due to cancer.
