People struggle with mental health issues, behaving erratically and sometimes dangerously, and experiencing menacing hallucinations in some sustained sequences. A woman is neglectful of her child whilst suffering from poor mental health, and performs an ill-advised and potentially dangerous medical procedure at home. A young child’s eating disorder is a theme of the film, although this is discreetly and sensitively portrayed.
