A washing machine falls on top of an elderly man in a scrap yard, trapping him underneath; a group of children quickly come to his rescue, however, and the man makes a full recovery. In other scenes children worry that a stray dog will be put down if they can’t find a good home for it, but the situation is resolved reassuringly.
A boy burps to cover the sound of his secret pet frog croaking. There is a brief outdated sequence in which a fairground employee puts on a false accent to perform the role of a ‘gypsy fortune teller’.
