Sequences of strong violence include shootings, stabbings and the severing of limbs, as well as the use of fantastical weapons. Scenes of hand-to-hand combat feature heavy and repeated blows, including with batons. A man is crushed by a car when it crashes into him.

People are threatened using guns, knives and fantastical weapons. A man reveals that he has bombs strapped to him and threatens to detonate them.

Strong language ('motherf**ker', 'f**k') is used frequently, as well as milder terms including 'son of a bitch', 'shit', 'bastard', 'asshole', 'goddamn', 'damn', 'hell', 'God' and 'Jesus'.

In one scene a couple are having sex, although this is implied only by sounds and by sight of a bed creaking. A person wearing a mask thrusting into another from behind is glimpsed very briefly on a social media website seen on a phone. Verbal references are made to sexual activity.

Dismissive comments are made about people's mental health.

A man is briefly seen smoking a marijuana joint and there is sight of a bong. Verbal references are made to 'meth heads'.

Verbal references are made to 'murder-suicides' and to suicide bombers.

Severed limbs and fingers are briefly seen, with some bloody detail. There is frequent sight of blood on clothes and faces in the aftermath of both violence and accidents. Dead bodies are seen, under covers, being taken out of a school after an implied shooting.

There is sight of a fantastical creature's genitals. Human nudity is implied but not shown.

There are moments of crude humour involving urination and a sequence in which a drawing of a penis has been crudely scrawled on a school blackboard.

Scenes of bereavement include parents coming to terms with the deaths of their children in the aftermath of an unseen but implied school shooting. References to cancer and other illnesses occur.
