GIVE ME FIVE is a Mandarin-language fantasy comedy drama in which a man whose mother died in childbirth finds he can travel back in time and become involved in the lives of his parents before he was born.

violence
Moderate violence includes a man being hit over the head with a bottle, and another man being punched and kicked repeatedly in undetailed fashion, although much of this violence is played for comic effect.
theme
There are upsetting scenes which revolve around a sense of bereavement felt by a son and father for the death of their mother and wife in childbirth. The son’s sense of loss, when he realises the life his parents could have had together, and when he finds he is capable of travelling back in time, leads to futile attempts to cause or persuade his mother to abort him before his birth. The father’s Alzheimer’s condition in later life also causes emotional upheaval as the son struggles to cope with his unpredictable behaviour.
additional issues
There are mild sex references and suggestions of sexist behaviour. There is mild threat, and mild bad language (‘crap’), as well as very mild terms (‘God’). Adult characters smoke cigarettes.
