A man strikes a woman during an attempted sexual assault; the woman subsequently falls while trying to escape and is fatally impaled through the neck, resulting in strong bloody detail. In another scene a man spits in his adult daughter’s face during an emotional confrontation.

There are intense and sustained scenes in which a frightened woman is targeted by a stalker who makes threats of violence towards her and her family.

There is infrequent use of strong language (‘f**k’). Milder terms include ‘hooker’, ‘screwed’, ‘pissed’, ‘asshole’ and ‘crap’.

Scenes take place at a phone sex line centre, where male callers are heard asking the female operators what they’re wearing and whether they like it ‘soft or wild’, and making references to ‘screwing’ and ‘supple breasts’. Elsewhere, a woman is shown straddling the driver of a car and removing her top, revealing her bra, and in a post-coital scene a naked woman briefly straddles a shirtless man as she climbs out of bed; however, there is no onscreen sex or visible nudity.

People make disparaging remarks about sex workers, including references to ‘loose morals’ and derogatory use of the term ‘hooker’. In other scenes a man expresses the view that women should not work outside the home. However, discrimination is not condoned by the work as a whole.

As a woman exits a bathroom wearing a towel, she discovers that her sexual partner has invited a group of men into the house without her knowledge; one of the men advances towards her in a sexually threatening manner and attempts to tear away the towel, leading to a struggle in which she is fatally injured. Other scenes feature undetailed verbal references to men ‘molesting’ and ‘harassing’ women.

There are infrequent moderate verbal reference to suicide.
