Edge Of The World
EDGE OF THE WORLD is a historical drama film, based on true events, in which a former British soldier becomes the ruler of his own private kingdom in 1840s Borneo.
There are bloody images of severed heads and decapitated corpses. A woman is shown with blood over her face and neck after her ears are severed off screen. We see blood running over a man’s hands when a chicken is killed, but the actual killing occurs off screen and there is no evidence of real animal cruelty.
People are attacked with machetes, resulting in strong bloody detail. A man is shown cutting another man's head off, but the process detail is hidden from view.
A moderate sex scene features brief shadowy sight of a man thrusting on top of a woman in bed, without visible nudity. There are occasional scenes of historical racism, and in another scene a man uses the word ‘n****r’ while criticising a white woman’s racist behaviour. Discrimination is not condoned by the film as a whole. Other issues include mild bad language (‘bloody’, ‘bastard’).
