threat and horror
There are mild scary scenes, set in a fantastical context involving witches, wizards and magic spells, including a woman on a motorcycle being chased by a car whose radiator turns into a set of jaws with metal teeth. A man's reaction to having his peace disturbed is for his eyes to glow and unleash fire, the veins in his head to bulge and to turn into a roaring demon, but one whose menace is restricted to making a lot of frightening noise. A young girl scares a friend by telling him in mock blood-curdling tones that it would be fun if, instead of discovering a bell at the top of a bell tower they are exploring, they found a bag containing a severed head. The intensity of the scary moments are not sustained and there is significant comedy to lighten the tone of the scenes.
A woman cuffs her adopted child around the head. There is very mild rude humour, including a scene in which a magic spell attaches an extra pair of hands to a woman's body, with one hand pinching her bottom. In other scenes, a woman who makes magic spells tells a child to behave or she will give her worms, causing the child to look disgusted. A child uses a boxcutter to slice pieces of snakeskin to make a magic potion, but this is under the eye of an older character.
