A man is repeatedly punched in the face in a scene that includes bloody detail. There is also gang violence which includes kicks, punches, implied stabbings and the use of improvised weapons.

In a prolonged scene of threat, a young woman attempts to escape a house fire with her unconscious father. There is also some brief knife threat.

Strong language ('f**k', 'motherf**ker') features, as well as milder terms including 'dick', 'asshole', 'ass', 'bastard', 'shit', 'screw', 'moron', 'butt', 'hell' and 'damn'.

Occasional sex references include references to a pornography and to sexual behaviour.

A homophobic insult ('pansies') is used.

Blood is briefly seen on a man's leg.

Upsetting scenes include references to death and grief, and scenes dealing with declining mental health.

A man suffers from alcohol addiction, and he is shown drunk and unconscious in some scenes. In other scenes, adults smoke cigarettes.
