A woman is stabbed and shot in a domestic abuse context; the violence mostly occurs off-screen, although the victim is shown heavily injured in the aftermath. A man strangles a woman. Sporting violence occurs frequently throughout; people sustain blows to the head, face and body during boxing matches, although bloody injury detail is infrequent.

There is frequent strong language ('f**k', 'motherf**ker') and use of milder terms including 'bitch', 'dick', 'son of a bitch', 'asshole', 'ass', 'shit', 'piss', 'damn', 'hell', 'Jesus Christ' and 'God'.

There are implied references to sexual fetish and sex work. A woman asks her ex-girlfriend how her sex life is with her new male partner. Characters appear together in bed post-coital.

A woman is pressured to repress her sexuality from those around her, including loved ones. Female characters are referred to as 'dyke', 'homo' and 'lesbo'. Homophobia is condemned by the film as a whole, as are instances of sexism which also occur.

Characters snort and prepare lines of white powder. There are verbal references to drug addiction.

A man coerces his wife into sex work and sexual activity and records it without her consent. During one such instance, a woman appears wearing a sex toy. References are made to a man secretly recording and selling videos of his wife during sex.

A large piece of skin is shown flapping from a woman's open leg wound. Characters are shown with blood and bruises on their body as a result of boxing or, occasionally, domestic abuse.

'Ring girls' wear bikinis and lingerie.

Domestic abuse is a prominent theme of the film. An older man exerts controlling and sexually coercive behaviour towards his wife, before becoming physically violent. It's implied the man coerces his wife into sex work and records their sexual activity without her consent. He also stalks her. There are a few scenes of violence, including one in which the husband strangles his wife, and one in which he attempts to murder her.
