A man slaps a young girl to the floor and then strangles her from behind; we see close-up shots of her pained and terrified face before she goes limp. A man repeatedly stabs another in the chest, but these impacts are hidden from view. Characters choke, punch, slap and grab others. A woman repeatedly slaps her young daughter but a man blocks many of the blows with his body.

A man forces a traumatised young girl to accompany him as he flees police. A gang of men take another prisoner and threaten him with death after suspecting him of committing an act of child sexual abuse. There are scenes of knife threat.

There is mild strong language ('shit', 'bloody') as well as milder terms such as 'damn'.

There are references to the kidnapping, rape, mutilation and murder of children. A sexually predatory man persuades a child to accompany him on a bus so he can abduct her. We later see her in a state of distress as he holds her captive and drags her into a bathroom where it is implied he intends to abuse her. In a courtroom scene there are references to the uses of vaseline and stitches in relation to acts of child sexual abuse; we hear the victim has also suffered bites. We are told that a man burns the genitals of his victims with acid as a sexual fetish. A woman recounts her own rape as a child at the hands of a relative.

There are detailed verbal descriptions of the burnt and mutilated body of a murdered child. A man's face is left slightly bruised and bloodied in the aftermath of an off-screen beating.

There are undetailed verbal references to abortion. Scenes of emotional upset include characters becoming distraught after learning that children have been victims of sexual abuse or have been abducted.
