violence
Upon discovering her plan to elope, a father slaps his adult daughter. Other scenes of mild violence include a man's head being held briefly in a trough of water and comic blows being delivered, resulting in minor injuries. An animated sequence illustrates a history of conflict between rival villages, and includes a moment in which a stylised sword-slash produces an unrealistic blood spurt.
threat and horror
Guns are fired, and swords and sticks wielded in scenes of mild and usually comic threat. A man collapses from heart attack, but the outcome is reassuring.
language
There is mild bad language ('bloody'), as well as milder terms such as 'hell', 'God' and 'damn'.
discrimination
A woman's weight becomes the subject of mockery, and the term "blackie" is used to describe a man. While meeting with no direct challenge, such discriminatory remarks are not endorsed by the film as a whole.
theme
There are very mild upsetting scenes centred on illness and bereavement.
flashing/flickering lights
This work contains flashing images which may affect viewers who are susceptible to photosensitive epilepsy.
