Characters are injected in the head with a substance causing them to writhe in pain and die; one man's head glows and steams after this injection. A man is stabbed in the stomach with tweezers, but we do not see the impact, A man shoots another in the foot to torture him and other characters are shot, with occasional sight of blood. A woman attacks a man with an axe. Scenes of stylised violence include kicks, punches shoves and occasional crunchy blows; these often have a slapstick tone. A man glows red and explodes in a suicide bomb blast; we also see a rat glow red and explode, but this animal is clearly not real..

Terrorists threaten to explode bombs at various locations, including a hospital. There are scenes of gun and blade threat. Restrained characters are briefly threatened with torture and death, but there is often a comic tone to these moments.
