CEDDO is a Senegalese period drama in which villagers resisting religious conversion kidnap a princess and hold her hostage.

violence
After a person is shot, blood briefly flows over his hand. People are branded, with brief aftermath sight of scars. People are shot, and in one scene an arrow is pushed into a wounded person's neck in masked fashion. There is also some blood in the aftermath of violence and on people's clothes.
threat and horror
Rifle barrels are pushed into people's mouths. There are also verbal references to murder and enslavement.
discrimination
The film deals with intolerance within the context of a power struggle between traditional villagers and a newly arrived Imam. There are derogatory verbal references to 'unbelievers' being 'accursed' and that their lives are considered 'worthless'. However, there are challenges to discrimination, which is clearly disapproved of by the film as a whole.
sexual violence and sexual threat
There are historical verbal references to women who were sold as sex slaves. People talk about trading women for alcohol and livestock, and a woman is taken to be traded. A person says he does not intend to rape a woman.
additional issues
The film contains some natural breast nudity in scenes in which a woman bathes and sunbathes. There are also mild verbal sex references to 'fornication', as well as brief funeral scenes which include undetailed sight of dead bodies.
