Frequent scenes of strong bloody violence occur throughout. These include repeated shootings, resulting in blood spurts, as well as stabbings, slashings, and a person's throat being cut. There is also hand to hand fighting and, in one scene, women and children are indiscriminately shot.

Sequences of strong threat included sustained scenes in which people are held at gunpoint, kidnapped, tied up and subjected to intimidation. Distressed prisoners of war are forced to kill others. Riot sequences feature crowds in conflict with armed forces.

Use of strong language ('f**k', 'motherf**ker') is accompanied by milder terms such as 'son of a bitch', 'whore', 'bastard', 'shit', 'ass', 'piss', 'hell', 'damn', 'God' and 'moron'.

Visual and verbal references are made to sex workers and there are occasional sex references.

There are scenes of drug misuse involving the injection of heroin. There is sight of bags of cocaine and references are made to drug trafficking.

A woman is threatened, physically abused, coerced to take drugs and forced into sex work.

There is frequent sight of blood, including blood spurts from gunshot wounds and bloodied bodies in the aftermath of violence. Wounds and scars are visible on people's bodies, and a soldier's arm is blown off following an explosion.

There are emotionally distressing scenes involving characters being severely injured and experiencing trauma after their experiences in a prisoner of war camp.
