Violence includes gunfire and beatings. A man coughs up blood after being shot multiple times in a gang attack. A teenager is forced to watch as men beat up his brother, without strong visual detail.

There are sustained scenes of building threat, including knife and gun threat and upsetting scenes of racist police aggression towards unarmed Black civilians. A group of people chase down and beat another person before dousing him with lighter fuel and briefly threatening him with a lighter; this is followed by disturbing aftermath images of the victim laughing hysterically, his mouth bloodied and missing multiple teeth. In another scene a distressed teenager is pinned to the ground and forced to watch his brother being beaten.

There is use of strong language (‘f**k’, ‘motherf**ker’). Milder terms include ‘n***a’, ‘bitch’, ‘screw’, ‘shit’, ‘ass’ and ‘asshole’.

There is a moderate scene of sex, with brief thrusting detail, as well as a short scene in which teenager masturbates under his bed sheets.

Black characters face racist aggression, violence and harassment by white police officers, culminating in the shooting of an unarmed civilian. In another scene a young Black man advises his brother to act confident in order to prove he’s not ‘a nobody, a n****r’. An unlikeable character uses the discriminatory term ‘spaz’.
