violence
A woman is repeatedly and bloodily stabbed in the neck with a fork when she tries to prevent her boyfriend sexually assaulting her mother; her mother is subsequently stabbed to death, after being raped. There are frequent moments of brutal and strong bloody violence, such as shootings, stabbings and knife slashings. In one sequence, a man's throat is sawn, almost decapitating him, and in another, a school boy stabs his teacher in the stomach with a compass. After beating him, a man urinates on another's face.
threat and horror
Frequent sequences of threat include gun and knife threat. A woman is kidnapped and forced to marry.
language
Moderate bad language ('son of a bitch', 'slut') is accompanied by implied uses of strong language ('f**k'). Milder terms include 'bastard', 'bullshit', 'bugger' and 'damn'. People make the middle finger gesture.
drugs
There are frequent scenes of drug misuse in which a man snorts lines of cocaine and takes LSD. References are made to drug addiction and a man is shown going through severe symptoms of drug withdrawal.
sexual violence and sexual threat
A woman is raped by her daughter's boyfriend; however, the visuals are discreet and the attack is brief and largely off screen. A police officer is also implied to have been sexually assaulted and then shot dead. A man drugs a woman with the intention to rape her and there are other scenes of sexual threat and coercion.
suicide and self-harm
A woman is discovered having taken her own life after being sexually coerced by a man.
injury detail
Violence results in substantial bloody and gory injury detail. In one sequence, a man bloodily stabs a woman and uses his knife to remove an organ, which he then holds up in the air. A man's arm is hacked off and the severed limb lies on the floor next to him; another man is cut into with a saw. A character receives deep bloody wounds after a serious car accident.
