BONEYARD is a US crime thriller in which a troubled FBI agent teams up with police to hunt a serial killer who may be one of their own.

violence
Sequences of gunfire occasionally result in spurts of blood. A killer is shown strangling frightened women, without graphic visual detail, and swinging a hammer towards one woman’s head, with the impact occurring off screen. There are brief verbal references to serial killers torturing and mutilating their victims. Scenes of threat include ones in which a serial killer stalks, kidnaps and attacks young women and girls.
language
There is frequent use of strong language (‘f**k’, ‘motherf**ker’). Milder terms include ‘bitch’, ‘son of a bitch’, ‘dick’, ‘shit’, ‘bullshit’, ‘piss’, ‘ass’ and ‘asshole’, in addition to use of the ‘middle finger’ gesture.
sex
There are infrequent strong references to sexual fetishes and erotic asphyxiation. Moderate references to sex work run throughout the film.
drugs
People are shown snorting lines of cocaine or smoking marijuana. Occasional visual and verbal drug references include a scene of cocaine dealing. Drug misuse is not endorsed by the film as a whole.
sexual violence and sexual threat
Flashback sequences show a police officer coercing a woman into sex; the depiction of the sex act itself is brief and focuses on the characters' upper bodies, without stronger detail such as nudity. During an interrogation, the same officer makes crude and threatening comments to a woman he has previously coerced into performing sexual acts. Another scene shows screaming young women being forced onto a bus by human traffickers before being rescued by police. There are also verbal references to sexual violence, including a scene in which a woman describes having been sexually assaulted at gunpoint.
additional issues
There are moderate crime scene images of desiccated corpses, including a decomposed female body with her bare breast exposed. A character experiences auditory hallucinations.
