One man repeatedly slaps another until other people intervene. Family members make light of a woman’s marital troubles by pointing out that her husband does not ‘smack’ her.

Bad language includes ‘shit’, ‘bloody’, ‘damn’ and ‘God’.

Comic scenes of implied sex show brief movement under the bed sheets, followed by sight of the bed collapsing. A couple kiss and embrace in the shower, without visible nudity, and again while reclining together on a dining room table. Other scenes contain verbal sex references and innuendo.

There are infrequent scenes of sexist behaviour, including one in which an unlikeable customer at a restaurant complains that women should not be allowed to cook in a professional capacity. Sexist attitudes and behaviour are not condoned by the film.

Upsetting scenes occur when a woman is admitted to hospital due to complications that put her pregnancy at risk. Other scenes feature infrequent undetailed references to abortion.

Adults are shown drinking alcohol.
