Strong violence includes the repeated stabbing of a man. A young boy is seen in flashbacks being hit by his mother who berates him for insisting that he sees supernatural phenomena.

There is strong, occasionally sustained, supernatural threat which features ominous sounds, menacing figures seen in the darkness, children crying and jump scares, such as a child suddenly bursting into flames.

There is infrequent mild bad language ('freaking', 'hell').

A woman is raped by a man in a scene which is brief and undetailed.

There are references to people taking their own lives, or attempting to do so, by several methods, including hanging. A woman falls from a balcony in long shot and lands heavily on the ground. A common factor in the suicides is the victims, under a supernatural influence, ritualistically mutilating themselves by cutting out their tongues, an instance of which is seen briefly and without clear detail.

There are strong gory images of tongues which have been cut out of mouths; sight of a woman's bloody face after a fall from a balcony; blood being drained from a person into cups; and blood spurts as a man is stabbed repeatedly. There is also sight of healed scars on a man's back which have come from being beaten as a child.
