BABE BHANGRA PAUNDE NE is a Punjabi language comedy in which a young man desperate for money to realise his business ambitions concocts a scheme to adopt a parent in the form of elderly person likely to die soon, and then claim on the life insurance.
threat and horror
Mild comic threat includes a group of young men attempting to hasten the demise of an elderly man through drowning, placing a poisonous snake in his bed and sabotaging a balcony rail. Although the older man is unaware of the plan, he manages to prevent himself coming to harm in all these situations. A comic robbery involves characters scaling down the side of a tall building on a rope, which does not go according to plan, but no-one gets hurt.
rude humour
An elderly man has to be supported as he stands at a toilet, but complains that his grip is too weak to direct his pee, and so another man is told to "Hold it"; there is no visual detail. An elderly man farts in his sleep.
flashing/flickering lights
This work contains flashing images which may affect viewers who are susceptible to photosensitive epilepsy.
additional issues
There are scenes of very mild emotional upset. There are comic references to illness and people dying. There is an innocuous drug reference as a man sees a group of elderly people fast asleep and says, "They have taken their medications. They must be high." There is very mild bad language ('God', 'hell', 'moron'). Adult characters drink alcohol. The work was filmed before the death of Queen Elizabeth II and features a lookalike actor playing her.
