violence
Animals fight each other and attack humans, with sight of biting, scratching, kicks and a head butt. Human characters shoot animals and stab at them with farming implements.
threat and horror
There are scenes of gun and blade threat, as well as sequences in which animals aggressively intimidate one another. A drunk farmer frightens his livestock by brandishing a whip and with threats of violence. Characters are threatened with death as a punishment for rule-breaking.
injury detail
Blood spurts and splashes are occasionally visible when animals are injured or killed.
alcohol and smoking
Characters drink alcohol, including an unpleasant man who drinks heavily and behaves aggressively.
theme
Animal characters grieve for the loss of loved ones, and occasionally become distraught when others are injured or separated from them. References are made to farm animals being slaughtered for meat or used 'for glue'. The story includes themes around the corrupting influence of power and the exploitation of others.
