Strong violence, motivated by revenge, includes heavy beatings, a throat-slashing, shootings and blows delivered with an axe. Whilst lacking graphic detail, the violence results in occasional blood spurts and sight of aftermath gory images, including the minced-up organs of a victim being fed to dogs. Scenes from a stage play feature domestic abuse in the form of parents selling their unwilling teenage daughter into marriage, and beating her in stylised fashion when she protests against her fate.

A woman is grabbed off the street by three men and subjected to a rape which is depicted briefly, without graphic detail or nudity, and with a focus on her distress. The woman has several flashbacks to her unsettling ordeal as her story develops through the film. There are verbal references to rape and to judicial institutions that are incapable of or unwilling to serve proper justice to victims of sexual violence.

There are occasional, undetailed references to people taking their own lives.
