A Little Life

There is use of strong language ('f**k'), accompanied by other milder terms ('shit', 'ass', 'dick', 'asshole', 'Jesus', 'Christ', 'God' and 'damn').

Two characters have sex concealed by a blanket. This and other scenes deal with a man's struggles to be physically intimate as a result of childhood trauma.

There are occasional scenes of joint smoking, as well as references to getting high.

A man struggles to come to terms with the sexual and emotional abuse he was subjected to as a young boy, which has left him mentally and physically debilitated. There are graphic verbal descriptions of child abuse, both sexual and emotional, and sometimes visual depictions of sexual acts; however, these instances are portrayed by adult actors and without explicit sexual detail. There are also scenes of sexual violence in which a man is subjected to sexually abusive and violent behaviour, and raped by his lover.

Several scenes depict self-harm in a graphic and bloody manner, accompanied by verbal references.

A character attempts to take their own life, which is accompanied by strong bloody injury detail. There are also other references to suicide and mental health throughout.

Blood features in several scenes throughout the performance, including those in which a man self-harms and attempts to take his own life. A character appears on stage for sustained periods with their body and clothing smeared with blood.

This work contains flashing images which may affect viewers who are susceptible to photosensitive epilepsy.
