Scenes of real violence take place in an active warzone, in which people are shot from a distance, subject to grenades and mortar fire.

There are sustained and intense sequences of real threat, captured using body cameras, following Ukrainian troops as they attempt to advance through Russian territory. Footage shows soldiers in foxholes and trenches, hiding from gunfire, missiles and grenades. In one scene, a Russian soldier is discovered in a foxhole and subsequently captured; in another, a young soldier appears shellshocked in the aftermath of a bombardment.

There is strong language ('f**k', 'motherf**ker', 'c**ksucker') throughout; milder terms include 'bitch', 'ass', 'shit', 'hell', 'God' and 'damn'.

There is an isolated crude reference to anal sex.

Real footage sometimes contains the bodies of fallen soldiers during, and in the aftermath of, violence; however, there is limited injury detail accompanying these images. In other scenes, injured soldiers are seen with bloodied clothes and bandages.

Ukrainian civilians and military troops are seen mourning for their lost loved ones. There are also references to the deaths of particular soldiers who appear in the documentary. Soldiers talk of missing their families while at war and contemplate their own deaths.
