VOX LUX is a US drama following a pop star whose life and career is interwoven with tragedy and trauma.

Violence

The film opens with a bloody scene depicting a school shooting. There is also a sequence in which gunmen open fire on people at a beach.

Language

There is use of strong language ('f**k', 'motherf**ker') and other terms including 'bitch', 'shit', 'piss', 'prick', 'ass', 'God', 'damn', and 'slut'. The discriminatory term 'retard' is also used, although the work does not endorse the use of such terms.

Drugs

There are brief scenes of drug misuse in which people snort lines of white powder. There are verbal references to drug misuse.

References are made to sex and losing one's virginity. In one scene it is implied that a drug-addled man grinds against a young teenage girl, and that a man has been having a sexual relationship with a teenager.

This work contains flashing images which may affect viewers who are susceptible to photosensitive epilepsy.
