UNSANE is a US psychological thriller in which a woman is committed to a mental institution against her will.

Strong violence includes stabbings and throat-cuttings. In one scene a man is forcibly given ECT shocks while strapped to a chair.

A woman is committed to a mental institution against her will and unable to convince the staff of her sanity. She is also being stalked by an ex-boyfriend whom she fears has been able to infiltrate the facility. There is a scene of sexual threat in which it is implied a man is about to rape a woman.

There is strong language ('f**k', 'motherf**ker'), as well as milder terms ('bitch', 'shit' and 'ass').

There are occasional sex references, for example to masturbation and oral sex. There are also undetailed verbal references to suicide and drug misuse, as well as scenes in which a character appears to smoke marijuana.
