TRANSFORMERS is a science fiction action film, based on the 1980’s animated television series and toy franchise, about a race of shape-shifting alien robots whose civil war is transposed to earth when they arrive in search of a life-giving cube.

There are frequent scenes of moderate action violence in which giant robots and human soldiers fight each other using various guns, tanks, planes, and helicopters. While intense, the sequences do not feature clear sight of blood or injury detail. The strongest scenes of violence occur between the robots themselves, such as a Transformer character being torn in two, although there is no emphasis on pain or gory detail.

There are also occasional moderate sex references, including a mother asking her son whether he was masturbating after he tries to stop her entering his room. There are also occasional uses of moderate and mild bad language ('shit', 'pissed', 'bitch') and infrequent mild drug references.
