SUMMERLAND is a British drama in which a reclusive writer must take in a World War II evacuee against her will.

Threat and horror

There is a prolonged sequence in which a person is missing and in danger within the historical context of World War II.

There is a scene in which a building burns and there are several references to bereavement in the context of war. However, there is no actual scene of war violence. There are mild and undetailed sex references. There is brief verbal reference to discriminatory behaviour against two women who are in love. There is minimal sight of blood when a person bandages minor injuries but there is no injury detail. In several scenes a person smokes heavily. There is also some mild bad language such as 'bugger off', 'damn' and 'God'.
