MIDWAY is a US war drama about a crucial battle in the Pacific during World War Two.

There are frequent scenes of battle violence, in which aeroplanes bomb and strafe targets, causing large explosions, and planes are shot down and explode. However, personalised injury detail is minimal, with only occasional sight of blood on clothes and faces.

Threat and horror

A man is tied to an anchor and thrown into the sea to drown. Men and women flee from explosions and wartime battles, and in one sequence servicemen try to climb a rope while under fire to escape a burning battleship.

Injury detail

In the aftermath of a bombing there is sight of dead bodies, and a room housing a number of dead civilians although not shown in detail. A sailor burns his hands on metal during an attack, and in the aftermath of Pearl Harbor there is brief sight of charred corpses in a hospital.

There is infrequent strong language ('f**k') and milder terms including 'bloody', 'bastard', 'bullshit' and 'bastard'.
