LOST RIVER is a drama about the inhabitants of a town struggling to survive in a broken economy.

Injury detail

The film shows a number of 'grand guignol' stage performances featuring strong bloody detail, including fake stabbings and self-mutilation. However, these are clearly part of a theatrical show and are not real.

Violence

There are occasional moments of strong violence, including the implied cutting off of a man's lips. However, the moments of violence are generally impressionistic and feature little actual detail.

Language

There is occasional use of strong language ('f**k', 'motherf**ker').

There is a scene of sexual threat in which a woman is inside a plastic case shaped like the female figure, while a man runs his hands over the plastic in a sexualised manner and tries to open it to reach the woman.

There is also a scene in which a rat is decapitated. No animal was actually harmed.
