THE LAST STAND is an action drama starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, about the sheriff of a small border town who must prevent a drug kingpin from escaping over the border to freedom. It is rated 15 for strong bloody violence and language.

There are several scenes of strong bloody violence as characters are shot dead or wounded, with sight of large blood spurts and blood spray. A farmer is shot in the head at a distance, an FBI agent is shot in the head with a blood spurt landing on his face, and a policeman's stomach area is heavily bloodstained from a bullet wound. A man on a bus is shot in the side of the head from underneath the bus, before he is shot again in the forehead, his blood spraying the ceiling of the bus. In another scene, a man is shot in the back with a flare gun and explodes, one of his limbs landing on an injured policeman, who reacts with sarcasm. During a fight between the sheriff and the villain, the latter slashes at the sheriff's legs a few times with a blade, before stabbing him in the thigh with it. He then pushes the blade in even further. Overall, the violence is strong but there is no dwelling on the infliction of pain or injury, and the action is both fast paced and laced with humour.

There are over 20 uses of strong language ('f**k').
