JACOB'S LADDER is a US psychological thriller in which a combat veteran who lost his brother in Afghanistan suffers disturbing visions.

Language

There is use of strong language (‘f**k’) as well as milder terms including ‘pussy’ and ‘shit’.

Injury detail

There is close-up sight of blood and gory wound detail during a scene of surgery. Hallucination scenes feature brief sight of rotting wounds.

Violence

People are shot, resulting in bloody impact detail and brief aftermath sight of injuries on a dead man’s face.

Threat and horror

A man suffers nightmarish hallucinations in which he is attacked by figures with distorted faces, resulting in occasional ‘jump scare’ moments.

There are visual and verbal references to mental illness, drug addiction and homelessness, and one scene shows a woman injecting a fictional drug into a man’s arm. A moderate sex scene features brief thrusting detail but no visible nudity.
