THE ISLAND is a sci-fi thriller in which a man living in a utopian society is chosen to be sent to 'The Island', the last uncontaminated place on Earth.

Language

There is infrequent strong language ('f**k'). Other language includes uses of the terms 'wanker', 'slutty', 'ass', 'shit' and 'fricking'

Violence

There are intense fight scenes, featuring heavy blows to faces and bodies. There are shootings which occasional result in bloody detail. There is a sequence in which a man's hand is nail gunned to a door and, during an operation, a mechanical saw is used to open a man's chest; there is limited sight of blood or injury detail. There are chase scenes featuring intense vehicle crashes.

Threat and horror

A character has a recurring nightmare in which it's implied that people are kidnapped and drowned. Organs are seen being removed from bodies during medical procedures.

Moderate sex references include references to role-play outfits, virginity and a brief scene of sex. There is a brief scene of childbirth in which an umbilical cord is cut with bloody detail. There is sight of foetuses.
