Note: The following text may contain spoilers

THE FIRM is a 1989 drama about football hooliganism.

Violence

Several scenes of strong bloody violence, including a man's face being slashed with a knife, the suggestion that a man is being blinded with a knife, and the suggestion that a man is being stabbed in the rectum.

Sex

A scene which at first seems like an aggressive marital rape scenario is soon revealed to be a consensual role-play. There is no nudity. There are also scenes in which women in lingerie prepare to perform strip routines in pubs, and there are strong verbal sex references.

Further issues include strong language ('f**k') and milder terms such as 'bastard', 'tosser', 'wanker' and 'piss off'.

There's also a scene in which a toddler plays with a knife, puts it into his mouth, and is shown with blood all over his mouth.
