ESCAPE AND EVASION is an Australian war drama in which the leader of a secret Special Ops mission in Myanmar struggles with its traumatic consequences.

Violence

There is strong violence in both battle sequences and more personalised confrontations in which there are elements of sadism, extensive bloodshed and images of gory injuries, including a man's hands as he pulls them agonisingly from nails driven through them into bamboo poles.

Language

There is infrequent very strong language ('c**t') and more frequent strong language ('f**k'). Milder bad language includes uses of 'prick', 'bitches', 'shit', 'crap'. 'ball-buster', 'bastard', 'piss' and 'my God'.

There is strong threat in scenes where men are subjected to harsh interrogation techniques, including waterboarding, and a scene in which a man is on the verge of killing himself. There are disturbing images of dead bodies in the aftermath of firefights. There is brief moderate sex and drug references.
