DEAD WATER is a US thriller in which an ex-Marine vacationing on a boat with his wife and a friend encounters unexpected danger.

There is frequent strong language ('f**k', 'motherf**ker') as well as other milder terms including 'asshole', 'bastard', 'dick', 'shit', 'bullshit', 'ass', 'tits', 'balls', 'goddamn', 'damn', and 'hell'.

Sexual violence

In one scene a man restrains a woman with the intention of raping her. The story features a man obsessed with a woman, and there are brief moments in which he spies on her.

There is a brief sex scene in which a woman thrusts on top of a man, but there is no strong nudity.

There are fight scenes with elbow strikes and punches as well as sequences of gun threat. Brief stylised flashbacks of war violence include gunfire and explosions. There is sight of blood in the aftermath of violence such as a bloody bandages on a shoulder wound and a gunshot wound to the stomach. The Marine at the centre of the story suffers from battlefield trauma and there are visual and verbal references to his mental health issues.
