CHRONICLE is a drama in which three teenagers' lives are changed when they acquire fantastical powers from a mysterious source.

In one scene, two teenagers match their powers in combat.

In the early part of the film, the teenage characters use their newly acquired powers for fun and thrills, playing tricks on unsuspecting people. However, one of the characters subsequently begins to use his powers in a malign and dangerous way, and the tone becomes darker and more threatening.

Injury detail

There is some sight of bloody injury, notably during the sustained sequence in which two characters match their powers in combat. However, there is limited detail.

There are also some moderate sex references.

This work contains flashing images which may affect viewers who are susceptible to photosensitive epilepsy.

Precuts information

During post-production, the distributor sought and was given advice on how to secure the desired classification. Following this advice, certain changes were made prior to submission

Note: The following text may contain spoilers

This work was originally seen for advice in an unfinished form. The company was advised that the film was likely to receive a '15' certificate but that their preferred '12A' classification could be achieved by making some cuts and visual reductions. When the finished version of the film was submitted for formal classification, cuts had been made in two scenes. Cuts involved the removal of a violent act and subsequent discussion of this, with some bloody focus, reducing focus on bloody injuries, and reducing sight of a character being impaled. With these changes having been made when the film was formally submitted, it was passed at '12A'.
