Note: The following text may contain spoilers

BROOKLYN is a romantic drama set in the 1950s in which a young woman on a visit to her native Ireland from New York must decide in which country and with which man she will spend the rest of her life.

There are two uses of strong language ('f**k'). There is also moderate and mild bad language, including uses of 'bastards', 'bitches' and 'shit'.

There is a single moderate sex scene in which a young couple kiss and begin to undress. A woman's underwear, suspenders and stockings are revealed before a man lies on top of her, between her slightly raised legs.

Other issues include scenes of adult cigarette smoking.
