There are scenes in which people are stabbed, slashed and beaten, some of which are accompanied by brief blood spurts. In one scene, a boy is lifted up by an assassin who hurls him over a castle battlement; however, the child's death is not shown. There are scenes featuring bloodstained bodies, and blood in the aftermath of violence. There is sight of severed fingers and toes.


There are scenes of moderate threat, including one in which a man is menaced and has a hand placed over his mouth to stifle him before he is murdered. There are also unsettling scenes and some disturbing images, some of which include supernatural overtones and witches. There are disturbing scenes in which characters' mental health declines, and which include visual hallucinations. There is also an implied offscreen suicide with brief sight of a corpse, as well as mild sex references and innuendo, and brief mild bad language ('whore').
