Snapdragon

There are strong crime scene images of dead bodies lying in pools of blood. After witnessing her parents’ murders, a frightened child is kidnapped and imprisoned in a cage for the implied purpose of sex trafficking. A woman posing as a sex worker is attacked by a client who attempts to sexually assault her, but she quickly fights him off. A psychologist initiates a sexual relationship with a vulnerable woman whom he first encountered in a clinical context. There is infrequent use of strong language (‘f**k’); milder terms include ‘hooker’, ‘shit’, ‘asshole’ and ‘crap’. There is occasional moderate threat involving guns or bladed weapons. A group of people are fleetingly shown smoking a substance implied to be opium. The film also features outdated attitudes towards race and mental health, including frequent use of the term ‘oriental’ to refer to people of Asian descent.
