There are gags relating to a cow's flatulence. There is also very mild innuendo, including when a father suggests that a man can have more than his daughter's hand. There is also very mild word play.
There are moments of threat as characters come up against a large giant, as well as a wolf. However, these are immediately followed by reassuring comic counterbalances. A woman is wrapped in a large scarf and carried away by a villain but she remains unharmed.
