Stylised scenes of violence include punching, kicking, arm breaking and improvised weapons. People are stabbed, slashed and shot, resulting in occasional bloody detail. A character is held captive and tortured, with an emphasis on their pain. There are sustained sequences of people being strangled and suffocated.

People are threatened by gangs, guns, animals and blades. Characters are kidnapped and restrained by attackers wearing menacing demon masks. Scenes of threat have reassuring outcomes.

A woman is grabbed by a man; it is implied that she is pressured into sex with him. During a police search, a woman is sexually harassed by an officer. A woman is shown with a handprint over her chest, implying sexual assault. There are verbal references to molestation. The film clearly condemns sexual violence.

A young child finds the body of a dead parent. Upsetting scenes are centred around death and bereavement.

Adults occasionally smoke cigarettes and drink alcohol.
