MOONRISE KINGDOM is a comedy drama set in the 1960s about a young boy scout who elopes with a girl, resulting in a search for them.

Sex

In one scene the boy and girl dance and kiss. The girl is wearing her bra and knickers and asks the boy 'Can you French kiss?', to which he replies 'How does it work?'. As they embrace, the girl says 'It feels hard', implying that the boy is having an erection. The girl then allows the boy to touch her chest and remarks 'I think they are going to grow more'.

There are infrequent scenes of violence, and a scene in which the girl moans in pain as the boy pierces her ear with a fish hook, causing blood to trickle down her neck. There are also some scenes showing adults smoking cigarettes, and some mild bad language ('son of a bitch', 'bastards', 'hell', 'goddamn', 'Christ', 'damn', 'God', and 'jerks').
