HERE COMES THE BOOM is a US comedy drama about a teacher who becomes a mixed martial arts cage fighter in order to raise much needed funds for his school.

Violence

Some of the fight sequences feature heavy blows to the face and head, albeit within a sporting context. In one case the hero receives a cut to the face and blood is visible for the rest of the fight, including sight of blood being smeared onto his opponent's leg and shorts as the two men are on the floor locked in a wrestling hold. All the fights feature clear rules and there is always a referee overseeing the fights. Several scenes emphasise the respect between fighters outside of the ring and it is made clear that their fights are sporting in nature rather than examples of personalised violence. The film as a whole has a light and comedic tone.

There is a 'gross-out' moment in which the main character suffers from food poisoning and inadvertently vomits all over one of his opponents.

There is also some mild bad language, including uses of 'crap'.
