A recreation of a hypothetical asteroid strike shows a massive explosion, causing a shockwave which shakes buildings and shatters the windows of skyscrapers; however, we are reassured beforehand that in this scenario all the people and animals would have been moved to safe shelters. There are references to the inevitability of a giant asteroid one day heading on a collision course with Earth, but the focus is on the scientific mission to find and destroy such threats, and the tone is exciting rather than frightening.
